A Look At Our Day

So I've been getting a lot of blog requests to do a "daily routine" post so I thought today I would share what a typical day consists of! :)

6am: Liam wakes up to eat... sometimes he's up, and other times he'll nurse and drift back off to dreamland! If I'm lucky I can usually get another 45 mins or so of sleep!

7am-9am: Liam and I start our morning play time! He usually hangs out in his mamaroo while I make my coffee and get Justin's clothes & lunch ready! We also like to look at books, sing songs and he loves playing on his play mat!

9am-12pm: He eats again around 9 and typically goes down for his morning nap! Here lately he's been really clingy and only goes down if I rock him! So once he's asleep I try to get a few things done around the house {and watch my morning shows!} By noon, Justin typically comes home on his lunch break and we eat lunch together!

12pm-3pm: He's usually hungry again around 12:30ish! He eats and then we spend some more time playing, or running errands! If we're out he almost always falls asleep in the car! I try to do some tummy time in the afternoons too even though my child HATES laying on his belly and almost always rolls over to his back!

3pm-6pm: After he wakes up from his last nap around 5:15-5:30 we try our best to try to keep him up until bedtime! I usually turn on music and figure out something for dinner and put Liam in his little bouncy seat in the kitchen! If we go out to dinner he usually sleeps until we're done! Here lately the weather has been nicer so we also go on family walks!!

6pm-9pm: If it's bath night, {I usually give him one every other or every two days} we give him a bath, I'll give him a little massage, play for about a half hour, read books, sing songs and say our prayers! At 8pm it's lights out! I rock Liam to sleep in his nursery and then put him down in his rock and play! He still sleeps in our room through the night but we're in the process of trying to transition him to his room! We leave him in his room until Justin and I are ready for bed! It's nice because it allows Justin and I to spend some time together! Around 11/midnight Justin will carry his bed + him into our room! Sometimes if he starts to wake up I will nurse him but most nights he sleeps right through everything!

9pm-6am: HE SLEEPS!! :)

I think it is KEY to have your baby on a good routine! It works great for us and I would be lost without it!!

  1. It's nice to see what your typical day looks like. With our little one coming in August it's super helpful to see the schedule and routine other mom's have developed!

  3. This is lovely! I have to say establishing a routine was the hardest part for me when Julia was a newborn. Once we got into the swing of things, everything became much more enjoyable!

  10. When did you start seeing a schedule develop with Liam? Maverick is 6 weeks old and I'm starting to see one but some days it's still all over the place!
