Recap & A Recipe!

9/03/2013

Last week Justin and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary!! I seriously still can't believe it's been 2 years! We celebrated a few days early with a nice dinner out to the Chop House! It was pretty low key this year but still very fun! :) I love this man more and more every single day! I am blessed to have him!

Moving right along to fall...
our house is officially ready to go! The upstairs and downstairs are complete with all my fall decor! The only thing I have left to do is my porch! I want to get a hay bale and put some pumpkins and Mums on top! Not only does my house look like fall it also smells like it too! I have my pumpkin and apple cinnamon Scentsy scents burning everyday now!

My fall kick started early this year {as usual!} I've even decided to try a new baked apple recipe tonight for dessert! It's simple and SO easy! Plus we have fresh {home grown} apples from Justin's grandma's apple tree! YUM!

Ingredients:
- 5 apples halved with the core scooped out
- 1 1/2 cups spiced apple cider
- 2 generous tablespoons of butter
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup oats
Directions:
- preheat crock pot on low
- wash and dry apples. Slice in half and cut out core.
- place apples skin side down in the crock pot and add apple cider
- combine remaining ingredients (it helps if you slightly soften the butter in the microwave) and place on top of apples.
- allow to bake on low for 1 1/2 hours or until apple is soft

  11. Absolutely adore your blog. I've been a follower when you were still just a bride-to-be. It has been amazing see you transform into a beautiful young woman! You're an inspiration. I'm only 17 years old & an only child. In a way you're like a big sis to me! You always have good advice, happy thoughts, and recipes. I do have a couple questions for you.

1-What happened to your FIRST ever Vlog Q&A? I see you deleted it off your blog & your youtube. BTW, you seriously need to do more of those things. As a young girl with no older sibling to look up to, I have a few questions and comments that I would love your advice on. Like I said, you're an inspiration and amazing person to look up to.

2-You need to do a complete post on your engagement story! I would love to know the details, and I am sure your other followers would as well.

    :) London

  12. Hi Lauren! Wonderful recipe. Looks delicious!! One question: What type of apples do you recommend using that will deliver the best taste in this recipe? Thanks so much! :)
