Well...

10/28/2012

I did it.
My hair is now Ombre hair!

What do you guys think? And PLEASE be truthful...
I've been getting a LOT of mixed opinions and would love to hear more! :) Right now I'm on the fence... It's a lot to get used to that's for sure. The hair itself is fabulous I'm just not 100% convinced I can pull it off? That's where you guys come in!!! Share your thoughts!
{If any of you Ohio gals need to get your hair done... I highly recommend going to see my friend Jessica at Urban Loft! She's the best and the overall experience is fantastic!}
Okay... READY. SET. OPINIONS!? :)

  1. I love it! I love the way it looks in the back! So cute!
I tried to do this with my hair but did not really work out! I guess I have reverse ombre! LOL.

  3. This is probably just me but whenever I see someone with this hair style it makes it look like their hair is dirty for some reason (even if it's not). I thought your hair color before was beautiful but really it only matters what you and your hubby think!

  4. I like it, but I would never have the balls to do this to my own hair. I am too OCD about my hair, so I give you mad props on doing it. I havent had any coloring on my hair (aside natural color for touch up) since like 2008ish? Eeeeeeh, I would love to do this. So, kudos!

  5. Love it! You pull it off so well!

  6. I don't mind the ombre look, but I will be honest- I think yours is a little drastic. Perhaps it was just the way the stylist did it, but it doesn't look quite as 'natural' as some of the others.

    1. I have to agree with them its a very drastic color change between the two colors where most fade to a lighter color! Not My fav

  7. I have an appointment tomorrow to get mine done ombre! I personally love the contrast of the two colors in your hair. I am on four+ months of not coloring my hair, so I'm going to try to get her to match the dark to my roots as closely as possible and then I would really like a light/caramelly blonde color. I've done plenty a'Google searches, and a few sites told me that Ombre is a great hair color/style for anyone if the base color matches your natural color, and it will bring out your natural features. Stay confident in your decision, ombre has been "in" for a while and I don't see it going anywhere fast. Rock on sistah!! xoxo

  8. You are beautiful, so whatever you do you will still look great! But honestly this is not so much ombre as it is two-toned. Ombre is supposed to be a bit more of a subtle change from top and then the lightest at the bottom. Maybe its just the lighting in the photos you posted. Honestly no one else's opinion matters as long as you are happy with it!

  9. The two tones in your hair don't blend well enough together. I love the colors in your hair, but for an ombre look the root color needs to gradually blend into the other color. If there's too much contrast in your hair then it just looks like grown out roots.

  10. Love it! My hair is ombré and I love it! I may never go back to one toned hair ever again!

  11. I think it looks gorgeous!!! But you don't have any photos of your face, girl! That is all I can think, is that the mixed opinions are coming from the fact that people aren't used to seeing you with blonde in your hair?! You're pretty no matter what color your hair is!!
    xo

  12. girl you look gorgeous no matter WHAT! i love the way this looks on you for real! I honestly feel like you could pull anything off!!! and hell, we are young! why not try different hair styles now and then!

  13. I'm not sure why everyone that doesn't like it is anonymous. You asked for honesty! Lol.

Anyway... I like it. I think it's a neat look, BUT I think they didn't blend it enough. It goes from really dark to really light - there is no middle that actually makes it ombre.

I think when it's down it looks better, but perhaps the "lighter" color should be just a bit darker so it transitions better. When it's up it's not ombre. Just half dark/half brown. It doesn't look bad, though.

Hope that helps. I definitely think you can pull it off. Espeially if the ombre isn't so drastic.

  15. I would also agree with someone else, I think the change is too abrupt between the colors. It just looks like you had it dyed the lighter color and haven't colored it again in months so your "regrowth" line is a bit harsh. This style is difficult to accomplish, but I would recommend seeing someone who specializes in color to get it done. Its also a hard thing to fix if you don't get it right, so you may have to go back to dark all over (which your color is beautiful and I would highly recommend anyway!).

  16. I still like your hair better I think the complete dark color :)

  17. Gonna agree with a few others...the colors don't blend well for it to be ombré, there's a drastic divide between the two colors instead of it flowing well between the colors.

That said - I think you are a beautiful, beautiful girl and you should have your hair the way you like it! =)

  18. First off Lauren, you're gorgeous! Second I'm a hairstylist and I know how hard it is to make the ombre turn out perfectly. It's SO hard to do! I think you went too blonde on the ends with how dark your natural hair is making the fade a little too blunt? My opinion is to have the ends maybe a lighter brown instead of platinum blonde? Love you girl!

  19. I agree with Denise, if you make the fade a little more less dramatic it will be PERFECT, but it is still adorable either way! Any new hairstyle is hard to get used to especially for other people.

    You are rocking it girl:):)

  20. I love the ombre look A LOT but you can clearly see the lines where the hair changes colors and it makes the three colors very distinct, rather than it looking like it's one color that fades as it goes down. The blond ends are a more subtle fade, which is how it should be, but the top color going from your natural to the applied color is where it's most obvious and doesn't really work. Maybe next time go with a darker ombre since your hair is naturally so dark? Just a thought!

Either way, like everyone else has said, it's your hair and if it's styled just the way you like, then more power to you for rocking it!! :)

  25. I like your natural color best as well!

  26. I think it's too dramatic. The ombre can be a nice change, but it is very hard to make it look natural. I think it would look better if there was a medium color in-between the your natural and the blonde...more of a transition

  27. You can pull of absolutely any hair style ever! This looks amazing!

  28. I think all that matters is if YOU like it!! =)

How did you curl your hair like that by the way? Tutorial PUH-LEASEEE! ;)

  29. hmm. I think I have mixed feelings about it. I really like the bottom color, but maybe add a little more lightness whether it be all around lightness to the top, or just a few highlights!! :)

  30. Your hair is gorgeous! I went for the ombre look about 6 months ago, I did just the front pieces underneath and I love it. I haven't needed a touch up until now, and even now it's not bad. I'm going for the full monty this time around and going full on ombre, can't wait.

  31. Wow, it looks so cool! Love it! x

  32. I agree with others saying the difference is a little too drastic, you can def. pull it off, but I think it would look evebetter as a little bit darker shade or more of a gradient transition.

  33. i loved it! Why did you change???!?!
