My mom has always been a huge fan of Goodwill, garage sales and every other thrift store. When I was a kid she used to beg me to go with her to look for clothes, toys, shoes etc. but I would never give in and go. I was completely against thrift stores. I thought they were so "un-cool."
Boy, have things changed! I'm all about Goodwill and thrift stores these days! Who doesn't love a good deal? I am however very selective or what some would call, "picky" about what I will buy from thrift stores.
Yesterday my mom and I stopped by Goodwill to browse for some things and I really wanted to check out the home decor section to see if they had anything worthy of refinishing or any craft supplies to try some DIY projects. Much to my surprise we walked back there and my mom found this beautiful wicker chair! I instantly said that looks like it's from Target! When I went over to check the price tag I about fell over! It still had the Target label on it! Then over top of that was a bright, pink sticker that read {$9.99!}
Yes you read that right... $9.99!
I couldn't believe it either! After standing there for a second in amazement I got a bright idea to look up the chair name and manufacture number on Google! I about died when the the picture and the retail price of $149.99 came up! Who would have thought I was saving $140.00!
My mom and I loaded this little baby up and away we went! :)
It looks perfect in our upstairs loft! Pictures of our {soon to be finished} loft to follow!
Do you guys like to thrift shop?! What's the best bargain you've ever got?
Wow that's one hell of a find, congrats! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk
ReplyDeleteGreat find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! I LOVE to thrift shop, and have pretty well narrowed down the ones I like to visit in the Dayton area--have you been to St. Francis? It is probably my favorite! You can find good deals at Valley Thrift, too (though it is a little crazier, and can have a lot of junk--you have to be committed!) and, if you are REALLY up for an adventure, try the Goodwill Outlet (if you haven't been, there are no prices, and everything is just thrown in bins--you pay by the pound! It is nuts!). Though, I'll admit, I do tend to buy a lot of "craft supplies" or things I think I'll redo that I don't always actually get around to using! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! What an unbelievable find! Lucky you :)
