Open Hearts

1/23/2012

Last night Justin and I went to my parents house for dinner and a movie.
My parents rented the movie Courageous Saturday night and really thought it would be a good movie for all  of us to watch together.
At first we were both a little hesitant about watching it since neither one of us had heard of it before and didn't know many of the actors... but we agreed and we watched.

About 15 minutes into the movie I got this strange feeling inside of me.
I knew somehow Justin and I were meant to watch this movie.
It was not rented by accident, this movie had a purpose.

The purpose turned into a lesson which lead to deep conversation on the car ride home.

Our hearts were open, ready for change.

We were ready to let the Lord back into our hearts.
I'm a firm believer in the saying, "everything happens for a reason."

This movie was proof for me.

It's a must see!

Let me know what you think of the trailer!

  3. Our church showed this movie Sunday night. I was sick & wasn't able to go see it, but my husband did! He said that it was one of the best movies he had ever seen & he wants us to rent it, so I can see it. He said that he wants to see it again & he knew he would learn something new again! He loved it & I am so glad! I can't wait to watch it!

  4. Lauren, I cannot wait to watch the movie. I definitely teared up watching the trailer you posted. I don't know if you ever read this on my blog or if I ever told you about it, but it's coming up on 6 years that my dad passed away. So, I don't have the ability to get closer with my daddy. But I always know that my Heavenly Father is there for me at all times without fail. It's so encouraging. That movie is going to make me miss him even more than I already do...

Thanks for posting this! It's great!

  17. I'm a huge Beth Moore fan and one time she called a situation similar to yours a "divine appointment". I love the feeling of having a divine appointment and knowing that God is speaking to you. In that moment there's no denying that the Savior of the universe has set an appointment specifically for you & is speaking directly to YOU! How awesome?

I haven't watched that movie but it's on top of the list!

  18. I really don't know why I haven't seen that yet but our church is having a community movie night showing it coming up!

A kid from the school I went to and coach at (Wake Christian Academy) is in it - he's the running/video games kid. His name is Rusty and he is awesome. Such a light for Christ at school. His dad is in it too - sooo cool!

  19. This makes my heart so happy for y'all. Isn't it amazing the neat ways GOd works, often when we least expect it? There is nothing better than growing in your relationship with the Lord and your hubby being right along your side as you do.

Did you cry? We both (even if he won't admit it) let a few tears out. GREAT movie!

  22. Don't even know how I stumbled across your adorable blog. Should be in bed. Don't know much about you (other than you are cute as a button up there!) but always, always, always glad to hear when someone lets the Lord back into their hearts. So, felt like you should know!
