DIY craft of the month!

1/31/2012

As soon as I saw Becky's DIY craft of the month link up I was beyond excited!
Then I saw that January's theme was love and got even more excited!

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays!
I just love having an excuse to show the hubs some extra love!

So with that being said I put my crafty mind to use and came up with a clever/sentimental gift idea for my love!

What you will need:

-Old window frame
-White or colored envelopes
-One or two 4x6 pictures
-Memory reminders
{examples- movie tickets, concert tickets, dried flower petals etc.}
-A pen
---
Justin and I have been together for 5 years now, so for each year that we have been together I labeled an envelope.
On each envelope I wrote, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5.

In each envelope I added a memory we shared together, such as a concert ticket stub or a movie ticket I saved.

Since my window had six frames and we've only been together for 5 years I decided to add a wedding picture to ours.
I put the picture in the center with the envelopes surrounding it!

If you've been together longer or shorter than 6 years you could either label the envelopes differently or just add more photos!

Sounds simple enough right?!
It was super easy and I know my husband will love it! :)

Okay, now let me know what you think!

Thanks for such a fun link up Becky! Also stay tuned for more Valentine's Day Ideas!
PS- if you would like to see some of the memories I included let me know,
I will do a separate post about that!

  9. I love this idea. It's so sweet and would be beautiful in a home. I totally hang onto tickets stubs and other "memories" so this is such a clever way to keep them!
